Biography

Greetings,

My name is Anthony Sargent, aka Sargent Sax. I am a Michigan native that  currently lives in San diego, California. My love of music began at a very early age, listening to the likes of Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Kenny G, Marvin Sapp, and Fred Hammond, just to name a few. During my youth, I dedicated 4 years of playing the saxophone in my middle school and high school band. After high school, I stopped playing for several years, shifting my attention towards other life pursuits. This pause allowed me to grow personally and creatively. At age 25, I rediscovered my passion for music, picking up where I left off, reawakening my musical ear.

After continuous practice during the covid pandemic, I felt ready to step out to    play in front of others. I was blessed the very next year to play for a private anniversary. That one powerful event confirmed what I already felt in my spirit; this was more than just talent, it was a gift from GOD. Since then, I have had the privilege of performing at a wide range of public and private engagements, including celebrations of life, weddings, birthday celebrations for both children and adults, fundraising galas, programs for nonprofit organizations, corporate events, holiday programs, other distinguished events. And, in 2025, I headlined my first gospel concert!

Playing the saxophone, and sharing my gift, has become one of my greatest joys. It allows me to connect with people on a personal level, to offer comfort, to make people feel good, and uniting people through the power of music.
